Job Summary

AECOM’s Portland office is actively seeking a highly motivated mid-level Civil Engineer with experience in rail and/or highway/roadway design. You will work in an established Transit/Transportation engineering group and work with a broad variety of clients, project types and alternative delivery strategies. Projects include:

  • Roadway design
  • Freight and Transit track design
  • Transportation and multi-modal planning
  • Transit planning and design
  • Traffic signals
  • Safety audits
  • Bridges

You will also have an opportunity to work collaboratively with other AECOM offices on civil infrastructure projects for multiple states, local and federal government agencies across the Pacific Northwest and the US.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or 5+ years of demonstrated engineering equivalency or related engineering experience
  • Oregon Professional Engineers License or ability to obtain license within six months
  • Experience with designs and plans production for transportation/ civil infrastructure projects including calculations
  • Prior experience designing roadways for transportation projects
  • Experience and ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
  • Experience using InRoads and/or Civil 3D design software packages for the conceptual and detailed design of horizontal and vertical alignments, sections, and 3D modeling on rail and/or highway projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively; verbal and written
