DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO SACKETT BUILDING
The Sackett Building sits to the left of Old Main, perpendicular to College Ave, and is closest to the intersection of W. College Ave and Allen St. For parking, see the Penn State Campus Map-2016. A larger map of: Campus and area
AIRLINES
There are 2 airlines that connect directly to State College (SCE). The airline, connecting city and plane types are noted below. It is a small airport, with a small restaurant for coffee and sandwiches. The security line moves quickly except for 6:00 a.m. flights, it is a little slower, but still easy to make a tight connection.
United: Washington Dulles (IAD) and Chicago (ORD)
American: Philadelphia (PHL), and Chicago (ORD)
While you may fly into airports in other cities near Penn State, the drive is quite long: Philadelphia (4 hr); Pittsburgh (3 hr); Harrisburg (2 hr).
HOTELS
There are several hotels within walking distance to the Sackett Building. The Nittany Lion Inn is currently not open, but should be opening soon. It is on campus, convenient, has its own parking deck as well as restaurants and bar. The Penn Stater hotel is located off campus. There are a few hotels within walking distance: The Graduate, Hyatt Place, and The Scholar are among them.
TRAVEL FROM AIRPORT TO HOTEL
Hotel limo pickup: Most hotels offer pick-up service; this should be arranged with the hotel directly.
Taxi: There are usually several taxi drivers located in the single, main airport reception area from the plane who are available to provide transportation to your destination and will help with handling luggage. Because of the airport’s small size, this is an easy process, and will generally cost less than $20.
Uber and Lfyt are available.
Car rental: There are several rental companies with cars conveniently located just outside of the airport.
