Contact your specific college and request funding. Many colleges provide funding for students participating in a study abroad program.
Please refer to the PSU Global Programs web site for information. The below information is from their website for summer embedded programs (summer semester embedded programming with a travel component during Maymester or summer session). Make sure to visit their website for the most up to date information!
March 15 – Scholarship applications due
Students will be notified of scholarship decision beginning April 15
Students traveling on an embedded program are eligible to apply for the Pennsylvania Commonwealth scholarship. Full time graduate and undergraduate students at University Park and the commonwealth campuses are eligible to apply. International students are eligible to apply.
Look for information on the Global All In Scholarship and the PA Commonwealth Scholarship on the Global Programs website. It is our understanding there may be a special $1,000 PA Commonwealth Scholarship for students participating in an embedded program!

The Student Engagement Network is now accepting grant applications! Individual awards of up to $3,000 are available to undergraduate students who are looking to expand their experience beyond the classroom.
Funding can cover unpaid internships, research opportunities, travel costs, living expenses, event fees, supplies and materials, books, software needed for projects and presentations, and more. Funding can also be used as compensation to work less hours in order to be involved in a club or organization.

Travel Grants for Students:
Pennsylvania Commonwealth Education Abroad Scholarship is a scholarship application available for undergraduate and graduate students participating on faculty-led embedded programs.
The following grants are not for embedded programs, but can be used for faculty-led summer programs:
Grant-in-Aid is applicable for undergraduate students participating in semester, summer and year-long Education Abroad programs.
Africa and Latin America Grant-in-Aid application is available for undergraduate students participating in semester, summer or year-long programs to Africa or Latin America.
Whole World Scholarship application is available to undergraduate students studying on semester, summer and year-long programs in non-traditional locations. A list of eligible countries is available for review.
