SWIPER NO SWIPIN’

This weeks boy is the Tinder boy. In case you don’t know, Tinder is a casual dating app. Image result for swiper not swipingThe catch is, you rarely get a boyfriend or girlfriend out of it. Let’s be honest, Tinder, especially in college, is used for hooking up.

Now, let me be honest here, sometimes I go on Tinder just for the attention. Guys (or girls) will slide into your DM’s with the funniest or flirtiest lines. Anyway, the Tinder boy can be categorized into three types:

  1. They put their dog as their first pic…aka they u-g-l-y and they ain’t go no alibi, they ugly. They also could just have very low self-esteem or confidence, because it’s not all about looks ladies and gentlemen! These guys could also just be creepy or weird.
  2. The ones that are looking for girlfriends/wives…aka they usually have pictures of them in military uniform, or they have a kid in their pictures to show they are a family man. Cute, but not practical right nowImage result for Tinder boy profiles
  3. The self-centered ones….aka the shirtless gym selfies….aka the IMMEDIATE SWIPE LEFT. These guys are the worst, they are the one’s that count your calories you consumed while eating your small Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream on your date. Yes, this happened to my roommate.

Don’t get me wrong, Tinder has good guys, the immediate swipe right, but they can sometimes be the diamonds in the rough. These guys can be categorized into three types:

  1. The ones with the pretty smile…aka good hygiene. You just know their breathe smells minty and fresh. No garlic up in here.
  2. The funny guys…their bio could be the sole reason I swipe right or give them the “Super Like”Image result for funny male tinder bios. If they are funny that usually means they have a good personality, and like to have fun.
  3. The nice guy…their pictures give the nerdy, innocent vibe. You can tell they don’t know they are cute.

My friends and I have had our fair share of Tinder experiences.

The first Tinder experience I had was when I went on a girls trip to Orlando,Florida. I got Tinder with the sole purpose of getting attention. This one guy I matched with could see the hotel I was staying at in my picture. He would drive by the hotel multiple times and send me videos with the kissy face as the caption. What a weirdo! I am not meeting up with you, because you are giving me stalker vibes.

A more recent Tinder experience I had the first few weeks of college, I fumbled. I should’ve kept this guy on the back burner. We will say his name was David. First of all, he had the funny guy and the nice guy persona. He picked my friends and I up (NEVER go meet a boy you are unsure of by yourself!), and we went back to his house with his roommate , who gave off major Tony Hawk vibes. They were the coolest guys, and they were actually really fun to be around. David and I didn’t hook up, but we just hung out. He put on Jersey Shore, which was such a turn on for me, and we liked the same music.Image result for jersey shore Basically, it just didn’t work out, but also I just wasn’t ready for all that. He wanted me to come over again so he could make me dinner, and have a sleepover. I guess I just got freaked out, and was unsure of it, oh well! I mean, I did just want attention, right?

My roommate has had two Tinder experiences thus far in college. The first one being the guy who has the shirtless picture on his Tinder profile. They went out, and he literally counted her calories. BIG NO! I mean, how rude and weird could you be? If you remember, this was the guy who was categorized as a player in the earlier blog post that we messed with since I matched with him too. Her other Tinder experience was with this guy Jacob. They would just hook up, but then my silly roommate caught feelings fast! They currently always go back and forth with “ending” whatever they are doing, but they haven’t yet. I’ll keep you guys posted on this relationship.

My other friend got a Tinder at the start of her college experience as well. She met this guy Zach about a month ago. They began snap chatting and texting, and basically she started to really like him. They have the same music taste, and she said he gave off the nice guy persona because his Tinder had a picture of him as an orientation leader. Image result for orientation leaderZach has been wanting to hang out for awhile now, but my friend didn’t want it to just be a hookup, so she’s been avoiding that.  One night, she called him out, and he said that it was not a hookup at all, and that he actually likes talking to her. The kicker is that he tends to leave her on read, so she doesn’t know what to do..I’ll keep you guys posted on that one too. She also said that she was talking to a high school teacher, but then he got all smart on her so she ended it. Can you say sticky situation!?

I hope you learned what guys to immediate swipe left on, and what guys to give that right swipe to.

Remember to be cautious about who you decide to meet up with thoughImage result for taken movie poster, because you never know the facade these boys front with. We do not need a Taken situation up in here.Image result for attention meme

Go get a Tinder, and get some attention!
