This weeks boy is the funny guy aka the best guy. I am sorry, but if you aren’t funny we can’t date or be friends. I’m like Tinker-bell except I crave laughter and attention to survive.

The funny guy will always have a leg up on the hot guy, and that is just facts. You can be on Chris Hemsworth level of attractiveness, but if you aren’t funny…. Just be Ryan Reynolds; he’s got it all.

The sad truth is, some funny guys don’t get all that much attention from girls. Why? I really couldn’t tell you. They really should though.

Do you want to be in a relationship with a guy who constantly plays video games, stares at himself for hours in the mirror, and constantly chants “Saturdays Are For The Boys”? Hell no. That sounds awful. The funny guys usually are a downplay of the things I mentioned above. They have different personalities as do most boys when they aren’t around girls. What do I mean?

They act different around their guys friends, and perceive themselves as being more outgoing to fit in more with their group. With you, they have a bit of residue from that, but they aren’t emotional at all with you as you would like. I guess you could say they wear a coat of armor that way.

Usually, the funny guy is funny due to some trauma they experienced when they’re younger, but this isn’t always the case.

Anyway, the funny guy can also be a huge jerk. They could be womanizers as a way to show how good they are at getting girls. Some guys can get on your nerves because you may want to know something genuine, and instead they crack jokes to mask it all.

Moving on, the funny guys can be dangerous; the Achilles heel, if you will, with girls.

When paired with athleticism, this is most girls downfall. Mine included.

Thinking back, all the guys I had things for were all funny. To get sensitive real quick, all girls want a funny guy to make them laugh and feel good; girls want their endorphins to be crazy

However, this humor can land them in a long-term loving relationship or in the depths of hell aka the friend zone. This is most commonly scene in The Office, Jim was in Pam’s friend zone for years. The writers gave him a lucky twist of fate, and he ended up with the girl, but it took YEARS.  What funny guys should strive for is the Damon Salvatore type: funny, sarcastic and sexy. That’ll get the fishes to take your bait 😉

I’ll end with a story from a male perspective. My friend, Blake, is notorious for being the funny one. Throughout high school, girls flocked. His charming sense of humor and wit along with his good looks really was what made him the ultimate chick magnet. Most of his friend were girls, in fact his very best friend was his next door neighbor, Megan. Now, we have the girl next door classic scenario. Heres the kicker, she friend zoned him right off the bat. He tried really hard to send signals through his humor, but she never understood. The flirting was misinterpreted as a result of Megan’s thicc skulll (she was blonde). Blake grew frusturated due to the fact that she never picked up what he put down. Basically, he still loves her, still drops hints, and she is still clueless. Why? Blake is too far down in the black hole that is the friend zone. So, write this down as what not to do.

All in all, the funny guy can either be the womanizer, or stuck in the friend zone for all of eternity. Jokes can only get you so far, and sometimes you need to bite the bullet, and just say it how it is. Funny guys: we see you, we hear you, we love you, but for the love of God, please speak up.
