CMS upgrade

By Binky Lush

We are pleased to announce that the CMS Development Team will be upgrading the CMS to the newest version, CQ5.6, after the spring semester. The latest release of the CMS Software will provide the following benefits for our users and for our authors:

  • Improved stability and performance
  • Advanced Search in the Site Administration for authors
  • Responsive design preview feature in authoring
  • Adaptive Image component that delivers images optimized for the device to improve page load time
  • New DAM asset annotations and asset expiration handling
  • More file formats supported in the DAM

Over the coming weeks, Ryan Johnson will be providing detailed information about each of the improvements to the author environment in his Tech Tips articles in the Library News blog, and we look forward to presenting a full demo of CQ5.6 at an Author Forum on May 2 from 1:30-3:00pm.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions! — The CMS Development Team
