Open Data for Sustainable Transportation
EIA data shows that as of 2016 the transportation industry accounted for 36% of US carbon emissions. Open and public data, especially travel surveys with data representative of the population, are an important tool for analyzing transportation systems. This project will explore ways in which open and public data can be used to address research and policy questions for sustainable transportation. This could include identifying trends in mobility, evaluating barriers to increased adoption of more sustainable modes, and evaluating equity of policies supporting sustainable transportation modes.
