Lieutenant Colonel Eric Swenson is a United States Army officer and graduated with a PhD in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University in Spring 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Penn State and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Eric has served in the Army Corps of Engineers since 1998. His research interests involve the application of industrial engineering methods to healthcare.
He was also elected to serve as the vice president of INFORMS and was an active member of the department’s graduate association (IEGA). Eric is also a member of two healthcare groups. The first is the Center for Integrated Healthcare Delivery Systems (CIDHS) and the second is the Center for Health Organization Transformation (CHOT). CHOT is a National Science Foundation Industry & University Cooperative Research Program (I/UCRC).
