We are pleased to announce the formation of the Digital Signage Steering Team. The team grew out of a group of people interested in adding digital signage throughout the Libraries as well as those who recognized the need to address some display issues with the existing digital signage. The group is working hard to come up with templates and guidelines for digital signage content that will allow for flexibility, while maintaining a consistent and high quality display.
The Libraries use Four Winds software to manage the content of the digital signage. This software allows us to share content with other digital signage across the University and to display emergency alerts.
In the first phase of the project, we’ll be able to display slides, video and online content. Next steps will include integrating relevant content from other University sources and using “regions” of the screen for multiple types of content display.
To date, the team has:
- Updated all existing signage hardware to improve the display (check out the updated display in Weltman Lobby next to the Commons Desk!)
- Identified individual content editors for every library
In August, 2013, we will be:
- training content editors
- providing templates for content
- coordinating installation of additional digital signage
The Digital Signage Steering Team membership includes:
Wilson Hutton
Sherry Roth
Karen McCulley
Karen Schwentner
Michelle Dzyak
Binky Lush
Kelly Kaiserian
Linda Struble
