Best Practices for Preventing Emergencies in Underground Mines
This two-year project for the coal and underground limestone industries, concluding in 2013, underscores prudent safety practices necessary to prevent fires and explosions, maintain proper ventilation and rockdusting, and control potential hazardous ground conditions, and conduct proper pre-operational equipment checks. A third Miners Town Hall panel was recorded, where experts reviewed current regulations and practices, as well as the state-of-the-industry as regards preventative safety. Other materials now in development or already released include PowerPoint presentations and manual to assist in “Train-The-Trainer” exercises.
