Stats, stats and more stats.  Everything that could be counted – was counted.  Miles travelled, days on the road, newspapers cataloged, newspaper holdings recorded, sites and types of sites visited, counties visited, presentations given, and most importantly, number of new newspaper titles found!  It’s all here…

Example of how statistics were recorded initially in the Daily Journal, then summarized in the Monthly Reports, then pulled out for statistics tables.
