The Center for Fitness and Wellness
The Center for Fitness and Wellness provides health and fitness assessment and education for students, faculty, and staff at Penn State. Most notably, the Center offers comprehensive fitness assessments examining muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, aerobic capacity, and body composition, along with blood tests for lipid profile and fasting glucose levels. The Center also provides instructional support for select activity-based courses offered by the Department of Kinesiology. Students enrolled in KINES 061, KINES 065, KINES 067, KINES 072, KINES 084, KINES 093 (cycling), and KINES 201 obtain fitness testing as part of the requirements for the course. Additionally, The Center offers an avenue by which upper level Kinesiology majors may gain clinical experience in fitness testing for future careers in sports medicine.
The CFW participates in EiMOC through screenings at our exercise stations during EiM week and working with University Health Services through the referral process.
