Interpretable and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence

While AI has brought transformative impact to various industries, its black-box nature and irresponsible use could exacerbate societal harms such as bias and disinformation and pose risks to public safety. To harness AI for good, our goal is to establish machine learning foundations to understand and harden the working mechanism of AI in practical environments (with multimodal, noisy, biased, and out-of-distribution data).
