Foster Auditorium use guidelines

Interim Proposal
A more definitive guideline for reserving Foster Auditorium, including promotional materials, will be announced soon. In the interim, the following information will help to clarify questions in regards to promotion of events.

There are 3 categories:

Libraries Events
Libraries Events are promoted through Public Relations and Marketing (PRaM). Simply fill in a “Start a Marketing Project” form found on the News and Events page at http://www.libraries.psu.edu/psul/news.html or directly at https://www.libraries.psu.edu/psul/secure/forms/pramforms/intranet/markproj.html. Most programs are promoted with posters, sandwich board, Collegian ad, press release, carousel, plasma, and in the Library Blog. Upon receiving the request form, a PRaM staff member will contact you to discuss your project. (Usually within 24 hours during the workweek.)

Co-sponsored Libraries Events
These are events where a library person works closely with another University department. The library contact will decide if the Libraries or the other unit will take the lead on promotion. If PRaM is to do the promotion, submit a “Start a Marketing Project” form, and the program will be promoted with items described in Libraries Event section as noted above. If the non-library department creates the promotional materials and wants to place posters in Pattee and Paterno, the following standards must be met and 4 printed copies of the poster can be sent to PRaM, 515 Paterno Library.

  • Requirements: Trim size is 11 (wide) x 17 (high) inches; proper use of PS mark and Libraries word mark; ADA** statement with contact name; complete U.Ed. number; and for more information contact person name, email, and phone number.
  • Prior to creation of the poster, PRaM will be happy to send a sample poster for reference.
  • Incomplete posters will be discarded.

All other Events in Foster
One 11 x 17 poster may be placed in the stand outside of Foster Auditorium up to 2 hours before event, if there is no other event occurring at that time. Otherwise it can be placed into the stand just before the program.

NOTE—signs taped on doors or elsewhere will be immediately removed.

** ADA statement to read: The Pennsylvania State University encourages qualified persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact NAME at email@psu.edu or 814-phone.
