Save the date: Indian name pronunciation workshop Feb. 20 in Foster, on MediaSite

By: Mark  Mattson

Students from India make up the second largest group of international students at Penn State.

Do you feel confident in correctly pronouncing the names Dritharashtrar, Venkatesh, or Supratik?

If not, join us for an Indian Pronunciation Workshop taught by Ritu Jayakar, lecturer in Hindi at Penn State.

Not a “language person”? No worries! You do not need any previous knowledge of Hindi to attend the workshop. We will only be working on how to pronounce names in order to feel more confident and to make our Indian patrons feel more welcome here in the Libraries.

Join us February 20, 3-4 p.m. — in Foster Auditorium and via MediaSite Live.
