Curt Marshall is the Multicultural Coordinator in the College of Arts and Architecture here at Penn State. He has been in the position for 18 years, where he works with the College on increasing the diversity of the student body, enhancing student retention, mentoring and networking. Also, he works with issues of DEnI in the college and serves on the College’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee. He also serves on the College Council of Multicultural Leadership and the Academic Council on Multicultural Affairs.

Curt received his BS in Agricultural Business Management from Penn State and began his higher education career in the Office of Student Aid at Penn State. He worked there for 11 years before, for love, he moved to Philadelphia and joined the enrollment management team at West Chester University where he did admissions and financial aid. He then moved to Drexel University where he was the Senior Director of Student Aid before returning to Penn State.

Curt was born in Barbados and immigrated to Brooklyn, NY, in 1971, following his father who had arrived a few years earlier to establish a home for the family. The family then moved to Queens, NY when his parents bought a home. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School before accepting his offer to attend Penn State. The decision that changed his life.

Curt’s greatest accomplishment is being a father and husband. He has 3 children: Brynn, alumnae in HHD, Andre entering his first year this summer, and Ian, freshmen in high school. His wife Chris, also a 2 time alumnae in Education and LIR, is from Centre Hall, PA and is an HR VP in the area.
