Lynnicia Massenburg

Lynnicia Massenburg is a fourth year Ph.D. student in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology at Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on understanding how plant cellulose synthases bind and make cellulose fibers used in biofuel production. She is also a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, an Alfred P. Sloan 2019-20 Scholar, and has received an honorable mention for the Ford Foundation Fellowship. Lynnicia received a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Magna Cum Laude, with a minor in Plant Science from Rutgers University. She also received a Masters of Science in Plant Biology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been motivated to build a community of support and empowerment for underrepresented students.
