Just a little head’s up to my fellow ePortfolio bloggers… I just discovered that MT4 prefers JPG images over PNG’s. If you try to add a PNG and want to have MT4 create a thumbnail, you’ll get an error. Just convert your PNG’s into JPG’s and you’re golden!

When uploading your images, I highly recommend saving the images into a folder called “images” so that your root directory doesn’t get mobbed with random images. You’ll have to type in the name of your folder every time however and the folder doesn’t show up when you click on the “Choose Folder” list in MT4, but rest assured, it is there.
mt4 image upload.jpgYou may also want to clean up the HTML a little bit. Just switch the editor into “HTML mode” and delete “<br /> <div><br /></div>” or similar extra code at the bottom of your page.

  1. Background – The Nursing Online CE program was initially developed to use ANGEL Groups as they were the only resources available to the planners at that time. The planners now have access to use ANGEL Groups which are advantageous for a number of reasons:
    1. Courses are not linked to any one person’s account
    2. There aren’t any quotas on the numbers of courses we could create
    3. The use of DEV spaces would make the process of course revisions more similar to typical WC courses
    4. WCLD would maintain more direct admin access to the courses, this would be especially useful for succession planning
    5. Courses provide a level of legitimacy that Groups do not have

I’m tempted to expand the pilot to include effectiveness of the design of this course. It would be a mistake to do that at this time given the scope, time frame, and initial goal of this pilot. It would be great to get more specific answers about how these courses compare to other forms of professional development that are available to nurses.

The problem I’m having is that I can’t customize the initial zoom settings. Someone visiting my site would have to immediately click the “zoom-out” button to get a better perspective on the chart. Most folks aren’t going to know to do this. If anyone knows how I can customize the code or XML or whatever, I’d appreciate it!
