On Monday, Maura and I were fortunate to have Dr. Miller visit us at Gallaudet University. We were excited to show her around, explain what we have been working on, and to get her input on our research.
We started the day with a meeting that included Dr. Allen and Dr. Morere, another professor we have been working with. There, we presented our tables and discussed our analysis. It was so informative to hear her feedback and to generate conversations about what we need to work on. We all grabbed lunch at Union Market and enjoyed walking around the campus to show Dr. Miller “a day in the life” of what we do here. Once our lunch break was over, we got a quick tour of the different hubs in the research center so Dr. Miller can learn more about VL2. It was a great day and we are so grateful for her visit!
As for the work, Maura and I are close to finishing our research brief! In our last week, we will try to work some more on the EELS data, complete the brief, and outline our research paper since all of our tables are complete. It is crazy to think that the next time I write a post, my PIRE trip will be over. With just days to go, I hope to learn as much as I can and enjoy my time in the city. Also, a congratulations to all of the students who completed their experience! I enjoyed reading all of the blogs and I am excited to read about your findings.
