Our weekend started with a nice meal and a relaxing night in. The following day, Dana and I had a delicious brunch (clearly a big part of DC culture, as I have mentioned it in every blog post) and then spent the day at the National Museum of American History. On Sunday, I had another calm day, just catching up on some reading and enjoying a little reprieve from the humidity in the AC of our apartment.

Then, on Monday, we were fortunate enough to have Dr. Miller come visit us to see our work here. We had a nice meeting with Dr. Miller, Dr. Allen, and Dr. Morere (another professor in the VL2 center who has been helping us out throughout our project). We discussed our findings and our plans for the paper that we will be writing based on our work from this summer. It was really incredible for Dana and me to just listen to the three of them speak, because they are all so intelligent and so well-versed in these subjects of language acquisition, delay, and assessment of deaf children.

After our meeting, we all went out for lunch and then gave Dr. Miller a brief tour of the labs in the the VL2 research center. It was really fulfilling to be able to show Dr. Miller what we have been working on in person.

For the rest of the week (which was a little short because of the 4th of July holiday), we continued to work on and edit our research brief, and we plan to have it completed by the end of our summer PIRE experience.
