This week, I finally pared down my stimuli! It was tough to choose which stimuli to use and which ones to scrap, but we did it! We also decided to run 180 trials instead of 270 for the sake of time and to avoid participants getting bored of the task (this happened in one of Dr. Carlson’s previous experiments and we don’t want them to get too bored). We are excited to put the Chosen Ones into the concatenator, which is a script that will put the items into trials so we can upload them to gorilla and finally make the experiment go live with participants!

Gorilla honestly sounds so interesting! I’d love to get to use Gorilla or LabVanced at some point in the future (but there’s a lot I’d like to do, understand how to use LaTex for example…)
My coworker actually has a similar problem regarding participants getting bored or tired because her main eye-tracking experiment is a total of about 45 minutes. Think about it, 45 minutes is a pretty long time to be staring intently at a computer screen and focusing on giving verbal responses to stimuli. But of course, things are working out nicely, so hopefully your experiment will go well as well!
This is super exciting! We actually had the same problem with our experiment, there are a lot of trials and it’s not necessarily exciting. Good choice to reduce!
