Week 2 of the PIRE experience consisted of uploading the program I made last week to Pavlovia to be used online once all of the other aspects of the experiment are complete. Unfortunately, Psychopy and Pavlovia did not want to agree with my upload, so it took more time than anticipated to get the program to work properly. With the help of the post-doc in my lab, and with a total of at least 10 hours between the two of us trying to fix the errors, we were able to get the program working. Since then, I have had time to look over the recruiting platform that we are planning to use for our study, which is Prolific. I have never used Prolific before, but I am figuring out how it works. I need to find a scheduling app or website that works well with Prolific in order to recruit participants and allow them to schedule times, so if anyone has any suggestions on free scheduling apps or sites, please let me know!
I am excited to start practicing running through the study more in order to start running participants soon. I realize that many of us are having issues trying to recruit participants, possibly due to a Zoom fatigue across the world, or due to time zone interference. I am also a little worried about this, especially with time zones because Poland is six hours ahead, but hopefully people find themselves wanting to make a little extra money, or in our case get a gift card.
Here is the quote to get us through the next week:
