Well, folks, it’s been another week of preparing stimuli for my interviews. That’s not to say I haven’t been plenty busy! PearDeck, a platform made for teachers that lets you present Google Slides in a very interactive way, seems like it’s going to work better than Nearpod will for giving interviews. It took a lot of experimentation to make that decision! Additionally, I’ve been planning a small lesson to teach to participants as part of the study. (Much credit to every teacher/professor, ever–It’s harder than I expected!) The topic of the lesson is social media during Coronavirus. It has been pretty fun to find articles along those lines, and to feel a little more informed around current events. All in all, I’m having a good time preparing everything for when I finally get to recruit and interview participants. As always, I wish all other people involved in PIRE all the best in what they’re working on!

That sounds like a really interesting topic to teach! It’s odd to think about, but some of the same articles we read about the pandemic and social media now may very well end up in a history book in twenty years. Best of luck with your PIRE work!
I am so glad you settling in on platforms to best conduct your research, sometimes that is the hardest part! I really like that it seems like your research is based around current events, I think this will keep it very interesting for your participants. Good luck with recruitment!
