This will probably out me as the nerdiest person imaginable, but as I start to collect more data from my groups, I am taking immense joy in sorting and organizing it. I’ve always been someone who loves organizing piles of disparate things, so keeping all these files organized is a really joyful process. There are so many categories to keep track of, such as which group the data comes from, which language it focuses on, what type of file it is, whether it’s survey data or a Zoom recording or something else, etc. I am trying to develop a system of labelling that is maximally easy for me to access later. Nothing brings my nerdy self more joy than making file folders on my computer and on Box. I feel a bit like a dragon combing over a horde of shiny objects.
Although participant testing is starting to wind down, there is still a lot of data to code and organize. This week I will try to finish correcting the transcripts of the Zoom calls. It will be wonderful to have them done, but in the meantime they are terribly monotonous. However, it’s all worth it to have good data!
