My second week in Braunschweig, Germany is about to end. My equipment is almost ready and I got the chance to test some one. To be honest, the entire process was not super smooth. I was quite nervous and messed up a few things, but thankfully the girl was very patient compliant. I will be testing some one next Monday and I hope I can do better since I’ll be more familiar with the entire process.

The university lifted its mask mandate today, which is kind of a great news for me. Doing eye tracking with masks takes a little bit more to adjust, and there’s not much air circulation in the eye tracking booth,  I hope this new rule will make future experiments easier.

I’m having some issues with purchasing gift cards, Amazon finds my activities “suspicious” and froze my account, and they have restored and refroze my account multiple times. I finally got the chance to talk to an associate today and I wish this problem can be solved by the end of the day today. I really appreciate people who have filled the QR code have been patient with their gift cards.

Outside of research, I met a friend outside of REWE (a local grocery store). Even though she’s only three years old, we still had a nice conversation about Elsa from Frozen (all in German, I’m very proud of myself).

Hopefully everything will be completely on track next week!
