Our Puerto Rico team had a few setbacks this week, starting with Memorial Day. I was about to schedule my second participant but unfortunately had to reschedule to the next week since the gates were locked during the holiday! I am hopeful that I can run this participant in the coming days.
Our other setback was an unfortunate exposure to COVID by one of our fellows. While two of us continued to test negative, we had to take precautionary measures and isolate, meaning we were not able to go into the lab at all this week. Regardless, I have been in contact with various potential participants to set up a time soon!
Other than those slight obstacles, I have been enjoying Puerto Rico so much and am so grateful for the community’s patience as I try to navigate the language. I am looking forward to more opportunities to engage with Puerto Ricans once our team is out of quarantine and good to get back to work and life!
Hi Caden,
I’m really sorry to hear about Amanda having Covid! I can unfortunately relate with how Lily caught only a few days into our trip. It’s very frustrating when you want to run participants but can’t do to a Covid exposure. However, it’s good to hear that you’ve been contacting several people. I hope that you and Maria Rebecca remain healthy and that whatever sessions you run go well!
Hey Caden,
That is no fun at all 🙁 I know how it feels to be set back due to COVID, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I am glad that you and Maria Rebecca didn’t get sick and that Amanda is feeling better! I hope data collection goes smoothly this week 🙂
I can imagine how stressful it must have been to run into all these obstacles. But I am glad to hear you and the other fellow are COVID free! I am sure that soon enough you will be able to be in person with your participants 🙂
