I’m happy to say that Kaitlyn and I completed a week full of participants! We were able to figure out a groove between each other and made sure that each experiment session ran smoothly. Throughout the week, we had some difficulties with paying non-chosen participants who were interested in our study, but we worked it out and have a solid plan now.
On Wednesday, there was an open air market on campus in the international students courtyard, so I was able to buy some nice things! Everything was homemade, which was wonderful to hear. I bought a few pieces of jewelry, a wallet, and a bag. Plus all the sellers were super nice and welcoming. If I had never got a no show for a session, I would’ve never found out about this market, so I’m glad it all worked out!
Saturday night, we went to a really yummy Indian restaurant called Tandoor. There was naan, lassi (mango is my favorite), paneer curry, and so much more. Plus their desserts were delicious; I loved their cheesecake. After dinner, we went to an escape room. We happened to choose the hardest one, which was not our in favor. Though we ran out of time in the end, it was the part that was scary so I’m glad we ended HAHA.
On Sunday, we went to the zoo and the modern art museum! Admission is free for both places on Sunday, so we lucked out! There were so many animals we couldn’t get through them all in one day. My personal favorite was the bears. I have a love for bears (I have a tattoo of two on my arm) so I was really happy to see a black and brown bear.
At the art museum, we got to see multiple exhibits that used different mediums of art! I love going to art museums and personally do not go to enough, so I was really excited. I posted some of my favorites below! One of the galleries I liked was one advocating for gender and sexuality awareness.
Overall, it’s been a busy but fun week!
