Already halfway into this program, my research partners and I ran a total of 6 pairs of participants. Recruitment has been difficult, but we have three more pairs coming in next week. When we don’t have participants, we transcribe the data we collected and try to recruit more people. Since it is exam season for people at Radboud university, people are reluctant to participate. However, we remain optimistic and hope that some people will participate as a way to take a break from the studying. On Monday, we had our first presentation in front of the lab at Radboud. It went well. We were able to present smoothly, although we did go a bit overtime. We were also able to answer any questions. At first I was nervous, but the presentation went better than I thought and I had some cake to help calm the nerves. I look forward to having 3 visits next week and hope that there will be even more moving forward.

On Sunday, some of us went to Leiden, Netherlands. We walked around for a bit, climbed a small tower-like place and were able to see the whole city. Well, it was a bit difficult because of the trees blocking our view, but it was nice to feel the fresh air. We then took a bus and went to the beach. We didn’t have our beach clothing, so we couldn’t do much other than walking by the water. We took off our shoes and dunked our feet. The sand was scorching hot, but the water was a great remedy. It was cold and refreshing. The waves were perfect. We were able to cool down from the heat. My clothes did get a little wet, but the hot sun dried them up pretty quickly.
