I can’t believe it… this week was our last full week in Mexico! This trip has been so much fun and a really great experience!
In the lab, things were honestly more or less the same. I was only able to run a few participants this week, as I had a couple people that had rescheduled or cancelled from the original schedule. However, I am excited to say that it hasn’t stopped me from reaching my goal number of participants. 🙂 We also had a lab meeting where the entire lab got together for lunch and was able to get to know each other a little more before we left. The get-together was very fun, and even though we leave soon, we were able to make some new friends from the lab!
Outside of the lab, we were busy exploring and trying some new things around the city. On Tuesday, we made a reservation and got lunch at the Hello Kitty cafe. The cafe was very cute and almost completely pink! Everything was Hello Kitty shaped or themed, and the food was actually very delicious. After the cafe, we headed to the botanical gardens at Chapultepec. There honestly were not many flowering plants, but it was still nice to be able to take a refreshing walk through the park and away from the constant movement of the city atmosphere. Finally, on Saturday, the city had their pride parade, which we were able to go visit. I really enjoyed seeing the many colorful outfits and seeing people come together; it was an awesome experience!
