Its so hard to believe that we only have one week remaining here in Mexico City. As far as data collection goes Aly and I are really close to reaching the number of participants needed for our study. We were a little bit stressed because at first we were a couple participants shy after multiple no-shows and cancellations throughout the past 6 weeks. But we have managed to last minute schedule the remaining people needed for next week! The best news is that we didn’t have any equipment issues this week which is always helpful.

Outside of lab we had a pretty eventful week. On Tuesday we went to the Hello Kitty Cafe. Which surprisingly it took us this long to secure a reservation for. But everything was pink and there were flowers everywhere so I thought it was very cute. They also have really good strawberry milkshakes. But my favorite part of the cafe was the photoshoot for Aly. I think I ended up taking over a 100 photos for her totally worth it though we had to get pics for her blog! Later that evening Aly and I went to Priscila’s apartment for a birthday dinner with her and her in-laws. We had tacos al pastor and a carrot cake for dessert which was all so delicious. But Aly and I were so happy to have had the opportunity to celebrate her birthday!

On Saturday we went to the cities Pride Parade which was very exciting because I had never been to one. But everything was so vibrant and colorful. After the parade we went out with some friends. They tried to teach us to salsa dance but I am a terrible dancer. I did appreciate the effort though. Aly however was much better at it so it was still a cool experience.

I’m super excited to wrap up our research next week and cram as many activities as possible into our final days here in Mexico City.
