With only one more week left of this program, my research partners who arrived earlier have settled back into their homes. This past week we had three pairs of participants come in for our study! Most of the study ran smoothly. The most recent run was a bit rough. We had problems connecting to the WIFI before the participants arrived. Right before they came, the WIFI started to work and we were able to connect to Zoom. Although it was a close call, we made it just in time. Once we got the study running and the participants settled into their booths, the experiment ran perfectly. We had our last pair come in today. It felt weird running the last pair. I can’t believe how quickly time has passed.

After the experiment, we did our usual cleanup and locked the doors. We walked over to return our remaining papers and shredded previous receipts. We also said our goodbyes to people who helped us run our visit smoothly. Tomorrow will be the official last day at Radboud University. We have plans to grab a final lunch with our supervisor.

Over the past weekend, I traveled to Sweden to meet a friend from childhood. We were best friends in 4th grade and then drifted apart during 5th grade. She moved away back to Sweden in 7th grade. We didn’t get to say goodbye to each other because I couldn’t gather enough courage. Skipping forward to 9 years later, we were able to reconnect via Instagram. Last year, we met and were able to somewhat catchup. However, this time I was able to travel to Sweden since it was a lot closer than it would be in America. Although I couldn’t stay for long, we were able to talk from morning to sunrise the next day. Those 9 years haven’t changed the relationship we created as children.
