The weekend was amazing! Me and the girls went to Amsterdam (finally!!) and we had some amazing food, amazing time exploring the city and even did touristy stuff. But obviously it was short time lived, because on Monday at lunch me and Ceci gave a presentation about our project at a Multilingualism Meeting with a lot of professors from the center of linguistics here at Radboud. Needless to say, I was very nervous going into the presentation, because i hate public speaking but everyone was very nice, welcoming so I felt comfortable as it went by. Not only did the professors paid close attention to our presentation but they also asked some amazing questions and gave us feedback their opinions on some things that maybe we could do in the future.
We still have a lot of participants coming in! and hopefully we will have even more since all the professors at the multilingualism meeting asked for our flyer in order to promote our study to their students or anyone really who wants to participate. We also asked the lab assistants that we met on our first week here , Dali and Merel, to help spread the word around campus about our study.
Our study is going very smoothly we have at least 2 participants a day so hopefully we do get to meet the threshold of 30 participants. Fun activity for me this weekend is my cousins are visiting in Europe so I will be joining them in Paris for a few days since my parents are not able to come visit me: so I’m very excited to meet them since we have a month left till we return home ! I had such a great time visiting a new city especially since my one cousin knows the area very well. After the smooth train ride back to Nijmegen from Paris, although the break was short but nice I am ready to continue running the study.
Hi Mavel,
That so awesome that you got to present your project, I bet you did great. We have to present our project next week, so I’m a little nervous just like you. Also it so cool that you got to go to Paris and see your family. It must have been so cool to see Paris right before the Olympics.
