We’ve spent full 8 weeks in San Juan, PR. It was thrilling and valuable experience.

I’ve helped with my friend’s research (EEG study) and there were participant almost everyday last week. For my research, I’ve collected 90+ participant through online, which was very satisfying. However, for the in-person behavioral study, I could not reach the targeted participant. Throughout the time, I’ve learned several details on what to care more when conducting the research: Keep getting tracked of everything, or I will lost track at certain time for sure, and don’t get too nervous.

About the every other thing, it was great. There are a lot of things that I would miss. The food, beaches, people here, and the weather. My favorite food here was “Mofongos.” It is a dish from Puerto Rico with plantains as its main ingredient. I’ve found this amanazing place. They had the best mofongo I’ve ever had. I would more than eager to back to PR just for this food. And the beaches were great too. As PR is island, there are many beaches, but my favorite was isla verde beach. The water was clear enough to see the deep sea from the outside. People (even total strangers) were so kind. (Although I couldn’t understand) They said enjoy your food all of sudden, try to teach me Spanish as I can’t speak any. Now, I can order coffee in spanish! (I am really excited about that) Lastly, about the weather, although it was humid -typical caribbean weather- and sunny for most of the days. When we just arrived, there were sometimes rain pouring all of sudden, but it stopped within 10 minutes.

To wrap up, I really appreciate the opportunity that I could join the program. Every single moment was full of joy, excitement, and insightful. Now I would prepare to run the data, which is another learning opportunity. And lastly, I thank all the people I was with when I was in PR and our supervisors.
