I simply cannot believe that we are at the beginning of our very last week in Nijmegen. I cannot even begin to fathom how this went by so fast.
This week we continued to work on changing the audio files, specifically the accappella files to make them sound more similar to the other audio files we have. We ran them through more Praat scripts, and believe that the new files we created sound more like how we envisioned them.
In addition to that, we began working on the stimulus lists for the pilot. We want different participants to be tested in different orders, with varying SNR levels. This ensures that our final study is difficult, but not impossible, with around a 40-60% correctness.
On top of that we also had the privilege to sit in during a meeting to listen to a different colleagues research plan in regards to using eye tracking in terms of grammatical sentence structures in bilingual participants. It was fascinating to learn about what others are working on in their time, especially people who I know from other meetings we have attended.
Bruce Springsteen performed at Goffert Park this past Thursday and me and Perry went together. I cannot believe how many people were in attendance and it was a truly phenomenal concert. I had no idea there were so many Bruce Springsteen fans in Nijmegen. The park is only a 15 min walk from our Airbnb so not only was the concert incredible, but extremely convenient as well.
