Last week started kind of slow as our participant numbers were down due to finals week. But as the week progressed, participation picked up, and we ended up with nine participants. Everything went smoothly, which was a relief. Granada is a beautiful city, and I am used to loving walking back from the lab every day because it gave me the chance to explore the city. However, it’s getting hot, and walking in the sun isn’t as enjoyable anymore so lately I have been taking the bus. On a brighter note, I went shopping downtown and enjoyed visiting shops that are different from what we usually have in the States. It was a refreshing change and a lot of fun.

The highlight of my week was the weekend trip to Málaga. We had to wake up early to catch the 7 AM bus, but the ride was worth it. I got to see a lot of the Andalusian countryside, with its vast oil plantations and vineyards. Midway through the journey, it started to rain, which worried us about the weather at the beach. But, after two hours, we arrived in sunny and beautiful Málaga. The beach was amazing, filled with people because of a boat competition. I’m not sure what sport it was, but it added to the vibrant and lively atmosphere. The sun, the sand, and the sea made for a perfect end to the week and the walk we did around in Malaga made it such and amazing visit.
