I can’t believe it’s week 4 already, I’m almost halfway through my entire stay here. I finally started running participants, and most of the experiences were very smooth. I had trouble calibrating a girl last Friday, but she was so nice and satin the booth for nearly 2 hours to allow me making adjustments. When I got frustrated of not being able to calibrate, she even told jokes to cheer me up. She also offered to advertise in some of her class groups, such an angel! I have 7 more people scheduled for this week and the next, and I believe there will be more showing up. I feel like I have been thinkin about eye trackers lately so much that I literally dream about them. For a good calibration, nine crosses would be scattered in the shape of a rectangle. In my dream, one of the crosses kept running away from the rest, and I was trying my best to pull it back. If you have used an eye tracker, you know what I’m talking about.

Outside of my experiments, I discovered the most delicious thing in the world, white asparagus! I have always liked green asparagus, so I decided to give the white ones a try. My hopes were quite high but the taste literally blew my mind away, they tasted almost like mushrooms but without the weird smell. If not overcooked, they have the texture of pears. Unfortunately, the season for white asparagus is extremely short, which ends at late June, and they are very rare in the US. Other than collecting experiment data, I think my other mission will just be eating as much white asparagus as possible.

Below is a picture of this beauty, forgive that I’m not a good photographer.
