Nonfiction Editor and Assistant Poetry Editor Amy Colleen is majoring in English – Creative Writing at Penn State Harrisburg. She is a returning student taking classes part-time (with an eye to finishing her bachelor’s degree within the next five years) while being a full-time stay-at-home parent. This is her first year working on From the Fallout Shelter and she is excited for the opportunity to learn more about literary magazines and the work of an editor. In her spare time (when not chasing toddlers) she enjoys writing humorous nonfiction, sewing historical costumes, making desserts, and employing the Oxford comma wherever possible.
Poetry Editor, Web Editor, and Assistant Nonfiction Editor Cayla Garman is a third year Creative Writing major at Penn State Harrisburg. As an aspiring poet, Cayla started out as a content contributor for INKED (2020-2021), and since then her poetry has been published in Fission (2020), in the Vita Brevis Anthology Brought to Sight & Swept Away (2021), and in From the Fallout Shelter (2022) as a runner up for the American Academy of Poets Prize. In addition to her editing role at From the Fallout Shelter beginning in 2022, she began editing for Fission in 2022 and served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Blue & White Journal during the 2021-2022 year. Her long-term goals include professional editing and the continued studying, writing, and publishing of poetry. Outside of the English department, Cayla works in the Lambert Undergraduate Advising Center and enjoys making quirky earrings, consuming matcha based desserts, thrifting, and spending time with her lovely friends.
Assistant Fiction, Visual Arts, and Co-Editor of Comics Dyani Kennedy is a Creative Writing major on track for his graduation, and seeking to end his college career on a high note. A rising creative, his inspiration from various comic books, superhero movies, role-playing games, and shonen anime has led him to begin publishing the book series EX: I Wanna Be The Hero, the first book of which released February 23rd, 2023. Excerpts of his works were featured in the previous year’s issue of From the Fallout Shelter, and he is planning to extend beyond his original creations to become a “multidisciplinary storyteller,” skilled in arts of all forms from literary, to visual, to digital. In spite of his lofty ambitions, one can often find Dyani casually playing video games in the SEC or quietly brainstorming his next big idea in the library, most comfortable in his own little world.
Copy Editor, Visual Arts Editor, and Assistant Poetry Editor RebeccaAnn Klug is a senior

In addition to her editorial work, RebeccaAnn is heavily involved on campus by being the President of the Programming & Activities Committee and working for the Office of Student Engagement. She has aspirations to potentially work in publishing, but dreams of moving back to her hometown of Kansas City. Until then, she is excited to continue helping students get published.
Fiction Editor Zian Lyu is a junior at Penn State Harrisburg, where he is majoring in English – Creative Writing. He has a passion for grammar and likes to refer to himself as a “grammar nerd.” In fact, he finds grammar to be the most appealing aspect of writing in English. Zian’s story was recently published in the 2021-2022 issue of From the Fallout Shelter. Originally from Beijing, China, Zian is a lifelong learner and writer. When he’s not writing, he enjoys watching college basketball games, and his favorite team is Duke.
Assistant Fiction and Co-Web Editor Angelina Memmi is a second year psychology major at Penn State Harrisburg. On a Friday night, you’ll find her curled up with a blanket, her kitty, and a good book. She has always loved writing (despite the frequent writer blocks), and was first published in last year’s magazine! This is her first year on the editorial board. She’s really excited to escape her comfort zone, be a part of a great team, and discover amazing artists and writers!
Assistant Fiction Editor, Assistant Poetry Editor, and Co-Editor of Comics Addisea Purvis is a senior at Penn State Harrisburg. Majoring in English with a Creative Writing minor, she aspires to have one of her works published someday. This is Addisea’s first time being a part of the Fallout Shelter team and she is happy to take the opportunity to take part in the school’s magazine. She hopes to gain more editing experience outside of college once she graduates and continue editing stories and different media. Apart from working on her two novels, she is found watching all sorts of anime, comics and art tutorials in hopes to improve her drawing style.
